You're here probably because you did a search on an HDTV term, or are looking for information.

What you will find here is my experience in trying to solve HDTV reception issues. I live in the mountains west of Denver (foothills), and am only a short distance from almost all the transmitting sites for HDTV stations in Denver. But, I struggled (and still struggle a bit) with reception issues.

I put these pages together to document what I was finding as I made measurements on the signals using spectrum analyzers, and the signal analysis capabilities of one of the TV sets.

Right now (September 2013), I still have some intermittent problems with a couple of the UHF channels, especially in inclement weather. Lightning causes momentary interruptions/scrambling, snow and heavy rain causes "digital cliff" dropouts, and the occasional deer passing in front of the antenna causes drops in all signal, across the board! Different antennas (I have three in different locations) have different presentations of these problems, and the symptoms vary. Green foliage season (most of the time, because we have loads of pine and spruce) is bad, then add snow on the branches and it gets worse. Sigh.

Hope this is helpful to you!
